Duties
- Represent borrowers and lenders in various commercial finance and lending transactions.
- Structure, negotiate, and document complex financing transactions and commercial agreements.
- Advise clients on commercial transactions, including supply, service, and licensing agreements.
- Conduct legal due diligence and advise on transaction risks and business objectives.
- Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice groups to provide business-focused legal counsel.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
Requirements
- 8-10+ years of experience in sophisticated finance and commercial transactions.
- Significant experience drafting and negotiating credit facilities and complex agreements.
- A portable book of business is required.
- Ability to independently manage complex matters and build trusted client relationships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client service skills.
Education
J.D. from an accredited law school.
Certifications
- Admission in good standing to at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Licensed or willing to become licensed in Michigan.
