Commercial Finance and Transactions Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks an experienced Commercial Finance and Transactions Attorney to join their Finance and Business Practice Groups in Grand Rapids, MI. This role is ideal for a senior-level attorney who excels in advising clients on complex financing and commercial transactions while contributing to the firm's growth.

Duties

• Represent borrowers and lenders in various commercial finance and lending transactions.
• Structure, negotiate, and document complex financing transactions and commercial agreements.
• Advise clients on commercial transactions, including supply, service, and licensing agreements.
• Conduct legal due diligence and advise on transaction risks and business objectives.
• Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice groups to provide business-focused legal counsel.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.

Requirements

• 8-10+ years of experience in sophisticated finance and commercial transactions.
• Significant experience drafting and negotiating credit facilities and complex agreements.
• A portable book of business is required.
• Ability to independently manage complex matters and build trusted client relationships.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and client service skills.

Education

J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission in good standing to at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Licensed or willing to become licensed in Michigan.
