Job Overview
A law firm seeks an experienced attorney to join its Business Practice Group in Holland, MI. This role focuses on commercial transactions, primarily responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements. The ideal candidate will have broad experience advising clients on business matters and negotiating commercial agreements.
Duties
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements such as vendor, customer, services, licensing, and confidentiality agreements.
- Counsel clients on contract strategy and business operations.
- Support financing and internal restructuring transactions.
- Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups, including tax, labor and employment, and real estate.
Requirements
- Two plus years of corporate or business law experience.
- Strong background in commercial contracting and general corporate counseling.
- Exposure to finance transactions, private equity portfolio company work, or corporate reorganizations.
- Experience working directly with clients and managing multiple matters independently.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to provide practical, business-focused advice.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Education
J.D. from an accredited law school and admission in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
Certifications
Admission to the Michigan Bar, or the ability to become licensed in Michigan.
