Sanford Health is seeking a Fellowship-trained Colorectal Surgeon Hospitalist to join its Surgery Department in Fargo, North Dakota. This role offers an opportunity to provide full-time hospital coverage and urgent/emergent OR cases within a Level 1 trauma center. The additional surgeon is needed due to continued practice growth, and both experienced candidates and new graduates are encouraged to apply.

Practice Info

  • Join a group of 3 colorectal surgeons and 16 other surgeons experienced in breast surgery, bariatric surgery, oncology surgery, general surgery, trauma and acute care surgery
  • DaVinci XI and DV5 robot available
  • Level 1 trauma center
  • Teaching of surgical residents and medical students through the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences

Responsibilities

  • Provide full time hospital coverage
  • Perform urgent/emergent OR cases
  • Specialize in invasive procedures in the colon and rectal areas
  • Perform general operations on the lower digestive tract

Shift & Schedule

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Successful completion of an accredited General Surgery Residency followed by a fellowship in Colon & Rectal Surgery
  • Must hold an active medical license for each state in which the physician practices - either physically or virtually
  • Must have a DEA for each state in which the physician physically practices
  • Board Certified in Colon & Rectal Surgery by the American Board of Colon & Rectal Surgery or equivalent (American Osteopathic Board of Surgery, Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada)
  • If physician is not board certified upon commencement of employment, they must achieve board certification as outlined in the privileging documents
