Ideal for someone who is highly organized, proactive, and enjoys working with both internal teams and external clients.Job Description: The Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable process by following up on outstanding balances, leading collection efforts, and assisting with various AR functions.
This role offers flexibility, growth potential, and the opportunity to take full ownership of collections efforts across a national customer base.Key Responsibilities:Monitor aging reports and identify past-due accountsProactively reach out to customers via phone and email to resolve outstanding balancesCollaborate with internal departments, including sales and customer service, to resolve billing issuesLead and facilitate weekly collection status meetings with internal stakeholdersDocument all collection activities and maintain up-to-date records in the accounting systemIssue reminders and follow-ups ahead of payment due datesInvestigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and short paymentsProcess and apply customer payments, including lockbox, ACH, and wire transfersPrepare and distribute accurate customer statements and invoices as neededSupport third-party collection processes and legal escalation when appropriateAssist with year-end audit and ad-hoc reporting for managementQualifications:2–7 years of experience in business-to-business (B2B) collections, preferably in manufacturing or similar industriesStrong Excel skills required (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs)Excellent written and verbal communication abilitiesProven ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal teamsHigh attention to detail, organization, and time managementComfortable working independently and collaboratively in a team environmentBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (flexible based on experience)Perks:Dental, Vision, Medical, 401(k)Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
