Collections CoordinatorThe Collections Coordinator is responsible for working with partners and clients in the monitoring, handling, tracking, and collection of invoices and all matters relating to the firm's accounts receivable.Essential Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesMonitor and track accounts receivable, review information for accuracy and ensure that all relevant information is correct and in accordance with departmental and firm policies and guidelinesWork with partners in the management of their accounts receivable, keeping them abreast of potential collection issuesMaintain contact with key personnel to resolve discrepancies and ensure prompt paymentWork cooperatively with the billing department to resolve issues with invoices submitted electronicallyResearch and analyze collection issues, coordinate with appropriate personnel to identify and resolve further aging of delinquent balances; contact clients according to firm policy regarding accountsResearch and respond to inquiries and assist with resolutions in a timely mannerPerform analysis, identify and help to resolve exposures and issues, communicate findings to managerAttend partner meetings and weekly management meetings to review collection comments; review and update comments for reports distributed to partnersProvide assistance to the accounts receivable team with research of unidentified cashAssist with special projects as neededPerform other duties as assignedEducationBachelor's degreeDegree in accounting or financeSkills and Experience2 to 4 years of collection experience in a professional services organization requiredAbility to effectively present information verbally and in writingBasic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, divisionProficiency in MS Word and ExcelFamiliarity with ARCS Collection Software or similar professional collection softwareStrong attention to detailAbility to maintain relationships with internal and external clients and effectively address concernsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong initiative and critical judgment skills with the ability to plan and complete daily activities with minimal directionCan organize, prioritize, plan and multi-task work activities, with the ability to effectively meet deadlines in a high-pressure environmentFlexibility to adapt to all work situations and work varied hoursExperience in a large law firm preferredSalary InformationNY Only: The estimated base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $95,000 at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
