About The Job

Thriveworks is seeking a Supervising Psychiatrist to join our growing team of highly talented mental health professionals. The ideal candidate will share our commitment to quality healthcare and exceptional patient service.

We do not currently treat substance use disorders, and make every effort to refer out to an in‑person provider when symptoms arise that are too severe to be treated via telemedicine only. Collaborators must be licensed in the state of CA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical supervision to employed Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners remotely.
  • Deliver a minimum of one supervision session per month per NP (20–30 minutes) via Zoom.
  • Be available by text/email to answer questions M‑F during business hours, responding within the same business day.
  • Review charts/progress notes as required by state laws and governing bodies.
  • Accurately complete a short 1‑page Google Document after monthly supervision for each collaborating NP.
  • Maintain knowledge of company policies and program guidelines.
  • Complete annual training required by HR.

Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Examinable in Psychiatry.
  • Active and unrestricted license in California.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience supervising residents or mid‑levels.
  • Willingness to take a minimum of 4 NPs.
  • No malpractice payout, licensure disciplinary action, or criminal/professional investigations in the last 5 years.
  • Compact license or willingness to obtain one; or licensed in multiple states.

Compensation

Once the NP starts seeing patients, compensation to the collaborating physician will be $800 per month per NP.

Physical Demands

Positions may include being sedentary for long periods and entering text or data into a computer through a traditional keyboard.
