They are essential for maintaining the cold chain, which ensures food safety and quality by preventing microbial growth after processing.Working in, or moving between, refrigerated areas (0°C to 4°C) and deep-freeze areas (below -18°C, often -35°C in blast freezers). Standing for long periods, repetitive motion in packing, and lifting or moving boxes, often while wearing specialized protective clothing (insulated coats, gloves, and boots).
Working at a high pace, often aligned with, or immediately following, automated conveyor systems, to quickly move products from the packing stage to the freezer.
