Cognitive Neurologist

Ochsner Health is seeking an Ochsner Staff Physician to provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care in cooperation with other department clinical staff. Responsibilities

• Examine the health of a patient to help make proper diagnosis of clinical conditions and prescribing medication, treatments, and follow-up care as required.
• Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions.
• Provide care directly and indirectly by working with other members of an interdisciplinary team to formulate treatment plans.
• Timely record patient encounters in Electronic Health Record.
• Request further medical evaluations and make referrals, as necessary.
• Understand and commit to the highest standards of professionalism; willingness to hold others to those standards.
• Commit to collaboration with all members of the department to provide quality patient care.
• Ensure accurate coding of all patient visits.

Qualifications

• Required - Board certified or eligible for certification in physician's primary specialty
• Licensed Practicing Provider MD/DO
• Credentialed and willing to maintain clinical practice
• Comply with policies, procedures, bylaws, processes of privileging/credentialing, and standards of care that are conducive to the provision of high-quality medical services
• Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements
• Individuals who reside in and will work from the following areas are not eligible for remote work position: Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, and Washington D.C.
