Key responsibilities Oversees daily inpatient and outpatient coding practices, providing direction to coding staff and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards Develops and maintains standardized coding guidelines, integrating updates from official coding resources Manages responses to external audits and coding-related denial cases, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance Required qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management or a related field Minimum of five years of acute care hospital coding experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS At least three years of healthcare management experience Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credential Preferred experience in an academic medical setting or trauma center
