Cobol ProgrammerThe business application tier utilizes Microfocus Visual COBOL running under IIS on MS Windows 2022 servers. This assignment will support development of new business functions and troubleshooting, modification, and enhancement of existing functions in this environment within the existing Client application framework. Projects may include business logic supporting online systems, batch programming, data extraction, and reports involving all Client business areas.
This engineer will work closely and will be involved with both the UI tiers which are MS.NET applications (VB.NET, C#.NET) and the database tiers in both SQL and Oracle. Production troubleshooting support will be expected, so some level of production support experience is required. This contractor will be expected to work with minimal supervision, will be in direct contact with business area specialists, develop technical approaches and designs, code, test, and support these functions.
