Cobol Developer W/ IDMS ExpJob Location: Princeton, NJ 08540Job Duration: 12+ MonthsResponsibilities:Write and maintain existing COBOL/IDMS batch and online programs.Review existing COBOL/IDMS programs and make changes as needed based on technical specifications or business change requests.Analyze code in existing programs for changes as requested by Change RequestsCoding new COBOL/IDMS batch and Online programsCreate and maintain existing batch OS jobs and PROCSCreating new Batch OS jobs and PROCSWrite specifications for mainframe jobs and Online screensFollowing standard SDLC processes to move code from a Development, to a User Acceptance, to the Production environmentResponsible for writing and/or supporting computer applications, with close involvement in the installation of releases and enhancements, analysis, design, coding, testing, documenting, and production implementation of system-required modifications.Analyzing existing programs to determine the impact of proposed changesReviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging, documenting and installing programsAddressing production issues that may occur during business hours but also during non-business hours including the middle of the night and some weekend hours depending on the need of the clientAttending meetings with the Client to understand the scope of changes and/or new workExperience:Experience working with large COBOL programs that read and update complex mainframe IDMS databases.Working experience with Batch/Online IDMS programs.The individual should be willing to work at off hours when required.Working experience working with large databases and large companies is a plus.Working experience maintaining existing legacy COBOL/IDMS programs is also a must.Qualifications:Working experience in a mainframe, OS/MVS environment, JCL/PROCs, TSO.Working experience in ADSO, DMLO, IDD, IDDM, ADSA, ADSC, MAPC, OLQ 6.Well versed skill set using COBOL, IDMS, MQ.JIRA/Confluence experience a plus.IDMS is MUST!
