Cobol DeveloperLocation: Columbus, OHContract: 3 months+Position Description:Mainframe COBOL Batch and COBOL CICS development to convert batch and real-time interfaces to a new third party processor. Development will be done within the context of a Shared Services Mainframe Development Model, with the development of mainframe-based components as part of an Enterprise Service Oriented Architecture.The primary focus of this position will be the design and development of 1) the building of replacement batch processes for feeding data onto, and extracting data from a Customer Information System, 2) conversion of customer profile account level data on a DB2 Customer Information System, and 3) the building and refinement of CICS Online modules which are invoked from Online Channels and will access and return data from DB2 Relational Databases.Roles & Responsibilities:Work directly with Business Systems Analysts, Project Managers, and other technical resources on multiple concurrent tasks.Design, test, debug, document, and implement program code.Consult with users to design, modify, and explain program changes or to provide technical support.Adhere to structured development lifecycle methodologyWork with Business Systems Analysts to translate requirements to technical designCreate technical design documentationPresent designs in design review sessionsPresent code in code review sessionsConduct structured unit and integration testingProvide defect analysis and resolution support for system and user acceptance testingProvide support for system implementations.Required Skills:Proficiency in COBOL embedded SQL / DB2 package and plan bindingKnowledge of application use of MQ SeriesPrevious experience with ChangemanKnowledge of XML encoding based interfacesKnowledge of Mainview a plusKnowledge of APPTune a plusKnowledge of DataStage a plusExcellent communications skills required; both written and oral: ability to articulate complex technical solutions to both the user and technical communities.
