Job Title: COBOL / CICS Application Developer
Location: - Lincoln, Nebraska 68502
Duration 12 months from projected start date to extension
All interviews will also be conducted onsite only 1 round of discussion.
SA Technologies is seeking a hands-on developer to maintain and enhance legacy applications, troubleshoot production issues and support application development across the software development lifecycle.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain and troubleshoot COBOL and CICS applications.
- Perform application analysis, programming, testing and minor enhancements.
- Work with business users to understand requirements and support application design.
- Develop and maintain DB2 SQL, write QMF queries and create database tables.
- Maintain JCL and support job scheduling.
- Document changes and follow established development standards.
What we’re looking for:
- Hands-on development experience in BOTH COBOL and CICS.
- Actual COBOL coding experience within the last 12 months.
- Experience with IBM mainframe z/OS, TSO/ISPF, DB2, SQL, QMF and JCL.
- Experience debugging applications using XPEDITER / XPEDITOR.
- Hands-on Micro Focus COBOL experience.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation and communication skills.
- A bachelor’s or technical degree in Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and at least five years of development experience.
Additional relevant experience:
- App Master Builder and Native COBOL.
- SQL Server, Agile/Scrum and Visual Studio.
- Mainframe migration, rehosting or replatforming.
- ASP.NET, C#, Web/Windows Services and SSRS.
