Coax SplicerBroadband Telecom Services is a full-service telecommunications construction contracting company with multiple locations throughout the state of Texas.Job Classification: Full-TimeLocation: Aledo, TexasPay Rate: HourlyReports To: Construction SupervisorJob DescriptionThe Coax Splicer Technician will splice coax cable including aerial and underground.Preferred Qualifications· Previous telecommunications construction experience is preferred, minimum of 2 years· Knowledgeable in types of splicing activity, cable, and safety equipment while using various types of cable construction equipment· Ability to review and understand engineering/blueprint designs· Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills· Enforce all company wide policies and safety regulations· Must be able to maintain and ensure company safety procedures are followedEssential Job Functions-Include, But Are Not Limited To The Following· Previous telecommunications construction experience is preferred· Knowledgeable in types of splicing activity, cable, and safety equipment while using various types of cable construction equipment.· Locate and repair cable faults to sustain existing cable network without causing signal disruptions· Authenticate start to finish service provisioning for the cable network, including testing· Check accurate cable terminations on cross connect, patch panels, hubs, and routers· Comprehend construction prints and splice schematics· Enforce all company wide policies and safety regulations· Position requires exposure to outside elements· Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor and provide general assistance to other employees as directedEducation & Licenses/Certificates:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Must possess a valid Driver's License and a safe driving record.Language/Mathematical Skills & Reasoning AbilityMust be able to use written and verbal communications in English language.Reasoning Ability & Physical DemandsAbility to work aloft.Must have manual dexterity and the ability to utilize various hand tools and test equipment.Must be able to drive a truck or van including a truck/van with an aerial liftMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds.Must be able to type on a computer, and utilize a smart phone to read and update prints.Must be able to kneel, crawl, push, pull, bend, stoop, lift and dig.Must meet and maintain Company's safe weight policy.The above information on this description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
