At E2, we value safety, innovation and collaboration, and we are dedicated to excellence.ResponsibilitiesDaily Coating & Construction InspectionInspect other contractors' work for compliance with permit requirements and one-call (call before you dig) regulations. Immediately communicate any deviations to the Chief Inspector and Company.Verify that field coatings on pipe, fittings, valves, joints, and other components are applied in accordance with company procedures and coating manufacturer instructions.Perform coating inspections including holiday detection (jeeping), mil thickness verification, hardness testing, and visual assessment of coating condition.Inspect and verify proper installation of shrink sleeves and other joint protection products.HDD, Backfill & Pre-Commissioning ActivitiesWitness all HDD pull-throughs to verify proper pipe support, coating protection, and as-built documentation.

Examine the leading edge of the pull-back to ensure no coating damage occurred.Prior to all backfills, HDD pull-throughs, and jack & bores: Visually inspect pipe for coating defects, gouges, dents, or other damage.Verify all pipe has been properly jee ped and any holidays repaired.Confirm field-applied coatings meet company mil thickness and manufacturer hardness specifications.Inspect shrink sleeves and other joint protection products for proper installation.Verify proper padding, bedding, and rigging practices to prevent coating damage.After all HDDs, verify that visible pipe and weld joint coatings were not damaged during pull-through activities.Quality, Safety & DocumentationComplete and submit Daily Inspection Reports, coating inspection forms, safety inspection forms, and other required documentation.Verify that construction equipment and material quantities are accurately captured on Daily Progress Reports.Confirm environmental Best Management Practices (BMPs) are followed in accordance with permits and project plans.Witness hydrostatic testing and verify equipment calibration documentation.Communicate opportunities to reduce material waste and improve efficiency to the Company.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of experience inspecting natural gas pipeline construction projects.Hands-on experience inspecting field-applied pipeline coatings.Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, alignment sheets, and valve maps.Familiarity with DOT 192 and OSHA regulations.AMPP CIP Level 1 certification (or equivalent).Ability to read, interpret, and apply company procedures and specifications.Required Operator Qualifications (OQ) per contract documents.Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in the field.Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.BenefitsE2 Consulting Engineers, LP offers an excellent benefits package including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401(k) with employer match.Work Environment/Physical DemandsConstruction sites and/or client right-of-way (R.O.W.)Client testing facility (occasionally)Corporate office (occasionally)Reports to the Chief Inspector, based locally with respect to the projectsMay require extensive driving to reach job sites and/or client/E2 officesFrequent ascending and descending of ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms up in and out of pipeline bell-hole / trench / excavationMaintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfacesLifting objects in excess of 50 pounds from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to positionAbility to perform visual inspection of construction crew quality of work; using measuring devices; and/or assembly of fabrication parts at distances close to the eyesAble to perform in both inside and outside environmental conditions in all four seasons throughout the continental United States – extreme cold (temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit) and/or extreme heat (temperatures above 100 degrees Fahrenheit) for periods of more than one hour.Ability to sense potentially dangerous situations on a construction site, including hearing heavy machinery and vehicle back-up alarms.Drug Free WorkplaceE2 Consulting Engineers, LP is a Drug Free Workplace.
