This position will support engineering planning, design, project execution, construction support, client coordination, and regional business growth.Key Responsibilities:Manage and support coastal, civil, environmental, dredging, sediment management, remediation, and waterfront engineering projects from planning through construction supportLead engineering planning and design efforts, including concept designs, alternatives analysis, basis of design documents, construction drawings, technical reports, specifications, and construction cost estimatesSupport projects involving dredging, dredged material management, capping, confined disposal facilities, beneficial reuse, beach nourishment, wetland construction, nearshore restoration, stream restoration, and coastal design conceptsPrepare and review plans, specifications, cost estimates, bid packages, dredge plans, construction documents, and technical deliverablesApply practical engineering judgment to complex project challenges and develop value-engineered solutionsManage project scopes, schedules, budgets, subconsultants, and deliverablesCoordinate directly with client project managers, technical staff, regulatory stakeholders, contractors, and internal project teamsSupport client relationship development, proposal efforts, and regional business development opportunitiesHelp expand the firm's mid-atlantic presence across maryland, virginia, delaware, and the broader regionParticipate in construction support activities, including contractor rfi review, submittal review, construction observation, field site visits, and project meetingsWork closely with geotechnical, coastal, dredging, environmental, planning, and biology teams to deliver multidisciplinary solutionsProvide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project staffEnsure engineering work products meet internal quality standards and client expectationsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, coastal engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, ocean engineering, or a related engineering discipline10+ years of relevant engineering experienceProfessional engineer license in maryland or ability to obtain within 1 yearExperience managing engineering projects, including scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, and client coordinationExperience with dredging, dredged material management, coastal design, sediment remediation, waterfront infrastructure, construction management, or related environmental/civil engineering projectsStrong understanding of plans and specifications, cost estimating, bid packages, dredge plans, construction documents, and construction oversightAbility to work on implementation-focused projects rather than purely planning, modeling, or desktop design assignmentsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to interact directly with clients, contractors, technical teams, and project stakeholdersAbility to travel occasionally for field visits, project meetings, and construction support activitiesPreferred Qualifications:Mid-atlantic or chesapeake bay project experience strongly preferredMaryland-specific project experience highly
