The Co-President of Feingold & Co. presents a unique opportunity for the right individual to reshape, energize and introduce a growth strategy into an established and well-run Massachusetts agency.This role is responsible for managing the strategy, vision, organic growth, and operations of the P&C division of Feingold & Co. to maximize revenue, control costs, and drive EBITDA performance. This position is designed to capitalize on an individual’s ability to drive organic growth through production and recruitment, as well as leading the day-to-day management of the firm in collaboration with the firms other Co-President. This role will require a close working relationship with other Sequel Presidents as well as with Sequel Leadership to drive organizational initiatives resulting in a consistent, efficient and scalable model to position Sequel for super charged growth and high levels of client retention.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of effective leadership, sales, financial and operations functions for the agency, both directly and by empowering and supporting leaders and staff at all levels
  • Develop long-term and short-range goals and objectives for the agency and ensure goals are cascaded throughout
  • Actively collaborate and partner with the firms other Co-President who oversees the financial services division of the agency
  • Take an active role in generating organic growth through self-sourced P&C production, as well as through the recruitment and leadership of a dedicated sales force
  • Create growth culture.Utilize Sequel technology tools, including CRM, strategic marketing, and creative producer models to drive revenue
  • Ensure the right people are in the right seats to support the organization’s goals and objectives. Leads, manages and holds teams accountable. Supports and partners with People & Culture, as well as managers to support the employee lifecycle including selection, training, professional development, work evaluation and offboarding
  • Manages and develops direct reports by providing clear communication and professional coaching guidance. Oversees overall team performance and any client escalation as needed
  • Oversees business development, competitor analysis, and retention monitoring processes aligned to support new business generation initiatives
  • Establishes and nurtures relationships and networks and leverages such relationships to support organizational growth
  • Responsible for managing the agency P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, EBITDA margin and the overall financial performance of the agency
  • Reviews, analyzes and takes action on data, analytics and financials which impact the organization
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislative and regulation changes and takes action to ensure compliance
  • Act as the face of Sequel in the Massachusetts marketplace and as a member of both NAIA and SIAA
  • Manage carrier relationships at a local and regional level, where appropriate
  • Drive innovation and process improvement through collaboration with fellow agency Presidents and the Sequel Leadership team
  • Mentor and drive a professional development culture throughout the agency
  • Develop detailed succession plans for all key leadership roles within the agency
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including collaboration, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in insurance brokerage, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity
  • Position requires a high degree of financial acumen with an understanding of the insurance brokerage industry, people development and management, change management, and business strategy
  • Excellent leadership skills with a proven ability to implement a corporate strategy on a local basis
  • Proven track record of retail M&A and integration
  • Ability to act as a Sequel brand ambassador in the Massachusettsmarketplace

COMPENSATION:

We believe great people should be rewarded for great results. This role offers a competitive base salary of $175,000- $225,000, along with a highly attractive incentive opportunity. In addition to base compensation, you’ll be eligible for 30% new business commission, a performance-based bonus, and equity participation - giving you multiple ways to share in the value you help create.
