This role requires the ability to run established programs with minimal supervision, troubleshoot routine issues, and consistently produce quality parts that meet production and design specifications.The CNC Tech II contributes to team success through reliability, problem-solving, and consistent adherence to quality and safety expectations.Essential responsibilities/functions may include but are not limited to:Follows all company safety policies, procedures, and shop standardsSets up CNC machines including tooling, fixtures, and material placement according to job specifications Runs CNC programs independently while maintaining accuracy and efficiencyVerifies zero points, tooling, and material orientation prior to cuttingInterprets production drawings and job packets with minimal guidancePerforms in-process and final quality inspections to ensure dimensional accuracy and finishTroubleshoots routine machine, tooling, and material issuesMakes approved adjustments to feeds, speeds, and toolpaths as neededPerforms routine machine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and tooling replacementMaintains compliance with shop SOPs, workflows, and quality standardsRecognizes potential production challenges and escalates appropriatelyCollaborates with production, engineering, and fabrication teams to support workflowKnowledge/skills/abilities:Can use overhead gantry with assistanceTrained on forklift/scissor liftsWorking knowledge of CNC machining principles and setupsAbility to read and interpret production and engineering drawingsStrong attention to detail and quality control Independent problem-solving for routine machining challengesReliable time management and task ownershipClear and professional communicationGood knowledge of materials, tooling, and bit identificationCompetent operation of CNC machines and standard fabrication equipmentEducation/certifications/experience:2-4 years of experience with operating CNC machines within a manufacturing environment requiredFamiliarity with CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code is preferred.OSHA 10 certificate preferredPhysical demands:The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, or crawlThe employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 poundsThe employee must be able to stand for extended periods of timeSpecific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focusEmployee must be able to talk and hearWork environment:Due to our onsite Fabrication process, the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.
