CNC SupervisorFreeman Boatworks is an industry leader in premium offshore fishing catamarans, known for precision, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement. Every boat we build is engineered for peak performance, and our teams play a critical role in making that happen.We are looking for a hands-on CNC Supervisor to lead our CNC machining operations, develop our team, and drive daily production results. This is not a sit-back-and-observe role — you will be on the floor coaching operators, solving problems in real time, balancing production demands, and keeping both employees and leadership aligned.What You'll DoLead daily CNC department operations to meet production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirementsActively manage workflow, staffing, and machine utilization to maximize productivity and minimize scrapWork hands-on with CNC equipment as needed — including setup, troubleshooting, training, and process validationTrain, coach, and develop operators with varying experience levels and skill setsSet clear expectations, address performance issues promptly, and recognize strong performanceBalance employee needs, operational realities, and leadership expectations — often simultaneouslyReview and act on performance data including labor hours, overtime, productivity, quality, and cross-trainingMaintain and manage DMS Production Boards and other departmental tracking toolsImplement and improve systems, processes, and standard work to drive efficiency and consistencyIdentify root causes of production or quality issues and lead corrective actionsMake sound, defensible decisions aligned with Freeman policies, safety standards, and financial responsibilityMaintain accurate production and labor records and ensure consistent policy applicationPerform other duties as assigned to support overall manufacturing objectivesWhat We're Looking ForLeadership & OperationsProven ability to lead from the floor — coaching, correcting, and supporting in real timeComfortable holding people accountable while maintaining trust and moraleStrong judgment and decision-making skills under pressureAbility to communicate effectively across all levels of the organizationPatient, consistent, and effective trainer and mentorTechnical ExperienceStrong machining background with CNC and manual machinesExperience with: Eastman C135 Conveyor Cutting SystemOnsrud 145M12D CNC RouterAbility to teach machining fundamentals and advanced techniquesDemonstrated track record of driving process improvement and operational efficiencySkills & QualificationsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational and planning abilitiesExperience evaluating employee performance and delivering constructive feedbackWork Environment & Physical RequirementsManufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibration, and moving mechanical partsPPE required: eye and hearing protection, gloves, respirators, protective clothing as applicableAbility to lift up to 50 lbsFrequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and working on the production floorNon-climate-controlled environment with exposure to heat, cold, dust, and chemicals (acetone, resin, fiberglass, adhesives, cleaners)What We OfferCompetitive compensationComprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, company-paid life & disability + more!401(k) with company matchPaid time off and holidaysA collaborative, people-focused workplace built on craftsmanship and innovationPlease note: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
