CNC SupervisorThe CNC Supervisor oversees and actively participates in CNC operations, programming, and scheduling within a high-end job shop environment. This role ensures that machining activities run efficiently, meet quality standards, and support complex fabrication projects for demanding industries.ResponsibilitiesSupervise daily CNC machining operations in a high-end job shop environment, ensuring productivity, safety, and quality.Lead and support CNC programmers and machinists, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.Plan and schedule CNC jobs to optimize machine utilization, meet customer deadlines, and coordinate workflow across multiple machines.Participate directly in CNC programming activities, including creating, reviewing, and adjusting programs as needed.Use GibbsCAM and related software to program CNC machines for complex parts and full builds.Oversee fabrication processes to ensure parts meet technical specifications and industry standards.Monitor machine performance on 2–5 axis CNC machines, DMG equipment, horizontal machining centers, VTLs, and pallet change systems.Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant shop environment suitable for medical device and government contract work.Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve machining issues and improve processes.Ensure adherence to shop procedures, safety protocols, and quality control requirements throughout all CNC operations.Essential SkillsProven experience supervising CNC operations in a job shop or similar machining environment.Hands-on expertise with CNC machining and fabrication processes.Strong CNC programming skills, including experience with GibbsCAM.Ability to plan, organize, and schedule CNC jobs to meet production and delivery requirements.Knowledge of multi-axis CNC machines, including 2–5 axis equipment.Ability to work effectively on the shop floor while overseeing both people and processes.Solid understanding of machining tolerances, quality standards, and fabrication best practices.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working with DMG CNC machines and advanced machining centers.Familiarity with horizontal machining centers and vertical turning lathes (VTLs).Background in machining for medical device full builds or government contract work.Comfort working with pallet change systems and high-end CNC equipment.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to improve processes in a job shop environment.Why Work Here?Join a high-end job shop that invests in advanced CNC technology and maintains a clean, well-organized environment.
