CNC ProgrammerYou are responsible for reading and interpreting design blueprints, programming the CNC machine, and adjusting the machine settings until the desired specifications are met. You are always trying to improve the accuracy and efficiency of programs for part production. This position is essential to ensure the success of the company.Qualifications2+ years of 3 and 4 axis machine experience is requiredMasterCam X experience preferred- will trainGood communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work with minimal supervisionAbility to lift 50 poundsAbility to inspect parts with various measuring toolsMust have good manual dexterityResponsibilitiesRead technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with these blueprintsUse computer software (Mastercam) to model cutting paths and program machines accordinglyDesign and aid in the fabrication of fixturing for parts of varying complexityPerform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specificationsSetup, and operate a variety of CNC equipment to produce high-precision components using engineering drawings and specifications.Analyze drawings to determine dimensions and to choose cutting tools, machine speeds, and feed ratesAdjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining qualityConsider tools required to cut materials and program machines accordinglyTroubleshoot and resolve problems during the manufacturing processPerform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and sharpeningTrain operator to properly carry out programsUnderstand and have functional use of CNC code and CNC programmingSetting machine origins in accordance with the set-up instructionsMachine part dimensions to maintain close tolerances with a high demand for squareness, concentricity, finish, and parallelismSetting and loading all tools in conjunction with set-up instructions to complete assigned jobsSetting up fixture components for jobs that require CNC MachiningG & M code fluency and ability to edit programsDevelop and maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisors, and other staffOther duties as directed by supervisorContinues to lead process improvement, process development, and productivity improvement efforts.ExpectationsTo perform the position of Set up and Programming successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility in an exemplary manner.
They will work with the shop floor leads and office personnel to ensure jobs are completed on time. A large part of this position deals with machine set up/operation and resource management.
