Manufacturing Applications Engineer (CNC Programming & Automation)We are seeking a Manufacturing Applications Engineer to bridge the gap between CNC programming, engineering, and manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong machining fundamentals with advanced programming and automation capabilities.You'll play a key role in improving efficiency, standardizing processes, and driving automation across CNC operations—helping reduce operator dependency while increasing throughput and quality.Core ResponsibilitiesDevelop, optimize, and maintain CNC programs for production environmentsInterpret complex engineering drawings, models, and blueprintsSelect tooling, feeds/speeds, and machining strategiesDesign and improve fixturing and manufacturing processesTroubleshoot machining and programming issues on the floorCollaborate with operators, engineers, and quality teamsAutomation & Advanced ProgrammingCreate parametric CNC programs using macros (e.g., Fanuc Macro B or similar)Implement variables, conditionals, loops, and logic-based programmingDevelop reusable templates and standardized program structuresAutomate probing, tool setting, and in-process adjustmentsBuild safeguards to reduce operator input and increase consistencyTechnical SkillsDeep understanding of CNC machining fundamentalsExperience with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, Fusion 360, NX, or similar)Strong knowledge of tooling, materials, tolerances, and fixturingAbility to read and interpret complex part drawingsExperience with multi-axis machining preferredBackground OptionsCNC Programmers looking to move into engineering/automationSenior Machinists with strong programming experienceManufacturing or CNC Engineers with hands-on shop floor knowledgeWhy This RoleOpportunity to drive real impact in manufacturing efficiency and automationBlend of hands-on work and high-level engineeringHigh visibility across operations, engineering, and leadershipClear path to senior engineering or automation leadership rolesCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary: $90K – $110K+Performance-based incentives (if applicable)Full benefits package (health, dental, vision, 401k, etc.)
