CNC ProgrammerLocation: Waynesboro, VA Pay: $35.00–$50.00/hour DOE Work Environment: OnsitePosition OverviewM Force Partners is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join a growing manufacturing team in Waynesboro, VA. This CNC Programmer position is responsible for developing, troubleshooting, and optimizing CNC programs while supporting machining centers, CNC lathes, press brakes, and other manufacturing equipment.
The role works closely with Production and Engineering to improve machining processes, reduce setup times, increase manufacturing efficiency, and support continuous improvement initiatives.The ideal CNC Programmer will have strong CAM programming experience, excellent blueprint reading skills, and a hands-on approach to fixture design, operator training, troubleshooting, and process optimization within a machine shop environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, write, modify, and troubleshoot CNC programs for machining centers, CNC lathes, and press brake equipmentSupport daily manufacturing operations as a key member of the production teamTrain CNC operators on machine setup procedures, tooling, and program execution across multiple shiftsDesign, build, and maintain fixtures to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce setup timesDevelop standardized tooling, fixture storage, and setup documentationEstablish common tooling strategies to minimize machine changeover timesTroubleshoot machining centers, waterjets, lasers, and other manufacturing equipment while supporting repairs when appropriateReview production orders against SolidWorks models and engineering drawings to identify discrepancies before productionComplete Engineering Change Forms to document design or manufacturing modificationsDocument CNC programs, setup procedures, fixture designs, and machining processes to improve repeatabilityEstablish and maintain standard setup and cycle times for manufactured componentsCollaborate with Engineering and Production to improve manufacturing processes and establish best practicesParticipate in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and 5S initiativesOperate machine shop equipment as neededMaintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while following all company safety policiesRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 8 years of manufacturing experience in a machine shop environmentMinimum of 3 years of CNC programming experience using CAM softwareStrong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, fixtures, and machine setupAdvanced mathematical aptitudeAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentationExperience reviewing SolidWorks models and production drawingsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and organizational skillsProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to successfully complete a written machinist assessmentPreferred QualificationsExperience programming multiple CNC machine platformsExperience supporting machining centers, CNC lathes, press brakes, waterjets, and laser cutting equipmentExperience with SolidWorks and CAM programming softwareExperience designing manufacturing fixtures and workholding solutionsKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S principlesPrevious experience training CNC operators or machinistsAdditional RequirementsAbility to work onsite in Waynesboro, VAAbility to work in a manufacturing environment that may include noise, dust, and temperature changesAbility to wear required personal protective equipment, including hearing, eye, and foot protectionAbility to stand for extended periods and sit at a computer workstation throughout the workdayOvertime may be required based on production demandsJob Presented By M Force PartnersM Force Partners is a specialized recruitment partner connecting top-tier talent with leading organizations.
