CNC Programmer - Swiss Machining

CNC ProgrammerWe are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer with hands-on experience in Swiss-type machining to join our precision manufacturing team. This individual will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting CNC programs for Swiss-style lathes, ensuring high-quality production of tight-tolerance components. This role requires a strong understanding of complex geometries, tooling strategies, and efficient cycle time reduction.Key ResponsibilitiesProgram, set up, and optimize CNC Swiss-type lathes (Citizen, Star, Tsugami, etc.)Develop programs using CAM software (Mastercam, Esprit, or similar)Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, and blueprintsSelect appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds for various materialsPerform first article inspections and validate program accuracyTroubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actionsOptimize cycle times and improve overall production efficiencyCollaborate with engineering and production teams on manufacturabilityMaintain documentation for programs, tooling, and processesEnsure compliance with quality standards and safety protocolsQualifications3+ years of CNC programming experience, with strong Swiss machining backgroundProficiency with Swiss-type machines (Citizen, Star, Tsugami preferred)Experience with CAM software (Esprit highly preferred)Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint readingAbility to work with tight tolerances (±.0005 or better)Knowledge of various materials (stainless steel, titanium, plastics, etc.)Experience with multi-axis machining and live toolingStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsPreferred QualificationsSetup and operation experience on Swiss machinesExperience in medical device, aerospace, or firearms manufacturingFamiliarity with automation and bar feedersLean manufacturing or continuous improvement experienceCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salaryOvertime opportunitiesHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) with company matchPTO and paid holidaysRelocation assistance (if applicable)Work EnvironmentClean, climate-controlled precision machining facilityHigh-mix, low-to-mid volume productionTeam-oriented culture focused on quality and continuous improvement
