CNC ProgrammerRock West Composites, Inc. is an engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for commercial and government customers. This position is located in our San Diego, CA-Otay Mesa location and reports to the Director of Manufacturing.Position Summary: Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine.
Maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipment and supplies.Essential Responsibilities May Include:Creates instructions for machining parts using MastercamReviews 3D CAD design blueprints (SolidWorks)Makes calculations for programming including where materials should be cutTranslates instructions into a computer automated manufacturing (CAM) programCommunicates with engineers and clients who will use the programsChecks completed programs by running simulations or testsPrepares geometric layout of designs using proper softwareDetermines sequence of operations in a programWrites programs and modifies existing ones for increased efficiencyAnalyzes and selects speeds and cutting tools for programsPrepares and sets up CNC machines to run first partsBasic Qualifications & Education:Minimum of 5 years programming experience in composite CNC machined partsMUST have advanced knowledge of programmingStrong understanding of 4 and 5 Axis machining, materials, processes and tolerancesMechanically able to assemble and disassemble parts and assembliesSelf-starter with excellent time management skills and ability to establish objectivesExperience with contact and non-contact inspection methodsOrganized, self-motivated, strong attention to detail and high level of accuracyAbility to manage multiple duties, set priorities and follow tasks through completionCapable of working in an environment in which demands and priorities changeProcessing techniques such as wet lay-up, mold and fixture design, inspection methods, and infusion preferredHigh School diploma or equivalentPerks and Benefits:100% Employer Paid Medical and DentalAnnual Bonus401K - 5% matchEmployee Stocks Option Program9/80 work schedule8- paid HolidaysPTO: Maximum 4-weeks after 5 years of employment$2,500 tuition reimbursementCompensation:The hourly range for this position falls within $40-$50.
