Our exceptional quality is driven by a deep investment in and the daily practice of continually improving our people, processes, and products.Purpose/ SummaryThe CNC Programmer position is responsible for reading and interpreting design blueprints, programming the CNC machines, and adjusting the machine settings to meet the specifications needed in order to facilitate the manufacture of components.Location: Prescott, AZThis is a full-time role that may require some extended hours and weekends, as needed.Responsibilities:Reviews the fixturing and provides support for fixture design as requiredEvaluates new cutting toolsAnalyzes drawings, sketches and design data of the parts to determine the dimension and configuration of the cutsSelects the appropriate tools and machine speeds and feed rates according to the machine shop processes, part specifications and machine capabilitiesWrites the instruction sheets and cutter lists to guide set-up and operation of the machineOptimizes the existing programsEnsures quality control standards are maintainedMaintains production schedules from the prototype run to productionProvides shop floor support for the life of the programDocuments set-up information and programming writing/support for various CNC 3, 4 and 5 axis milling operationsParticipates in process development, including creation of detailed router instructions, operation sheets, tool selection and fixture and tooling designInterfaces daily with manufacturing and quality functionsWorks with customers and suppliers to resolve process and design issuesIncorporates lean manufacturing in cell environment and quick change set-up, etc.Performs other related duties as assignedKnowledge, Skill & Ability:Strong knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD & T)Thorough knowledge of G code programmingKnowledge and experience in the major aerospace alloy groups (titanium, stainless, nickel and aluminum)Thorough knowledge of quality control proceduresExcellent mathematical, measurement, and technical skillsExpert computer software programming skillsSound project management and presentation skillsSelf-directed work ethic & time management skills to assure projects are completed on timeAbility to interpret complex blueprints and prepare machining processAnalytical skills to lead and solve problems to improve business processExcellent interpersonal, written and oral communications skillsMust be a team player and have the ability to work well with others in a cross functional team environmentEducation/Experience:Two (2) year Technical degreeTwo (2) years of related experience in CNC Programming and machine shop practices in the Aerospace industrySolid CAD modeling experienceWork Environment:Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical equipment, acetone, alcohol, argon, braze alloys, nitrogen, hydrogen, oil based lubricants, and cleaning solutionsOccasionally exposed to moderate cold and extreme heatNoise level is usually middlingPhysical Demands:Regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feelFrequently required to talk or hearOccasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlOccasionally lift and/or move up to 10 poundsVision abilities required include close vision and color visionAcknowledgements:The above job description is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of duties and standards of the position.
