Pay Range: $77,220 - $115,400 DoE

Hours: M-F full-time onsite

Position Summary: Develop offline CNC programs from 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for horizontal and vertical lathes, milling centers, mill-turn equipment, and multi-axis machining centers used in industrial pump manufacturing. Create safe and efficient machining strategies, tooling plans, setup documentation, simulations, and production-ready programs while partnering with machinists, setup operators, engineering, quality, and shop-floor leadership.

Core Responsibilities:

• Create new CNC programs from drawings, models, and manufacturing requirements using CAM software.
• Develop complete machining sequences for horizontal and vertical mills, lathes, mill-turn, and multi-axis equipment.
• Select cutting tools, workholding/fixtures, speeds, feeds, toolpaths, and machining approach.
• Prepare accurate setup sheets, tool lists, and supporting documentation for machinists.
• Support machine setup, simulation/verification, first-piece prove-out, and production release.
• Troubleshoot CNC programs and machining performance; revise code or process plans as required.
• Interpret blueprints, tolerances, dimensions, and CAD data; apply shop math to programming decisions.
• Collaborate directly with machinists, manufacturing engineering, quality, and production leadership.
• Support Lean manufacturing, setup reduction, mistake proofing, cycle-time improvement, and quality initiatives.
• Program equipment offline using CAM software and 3D CAD models rather than programming only at the machine.
• Apply algebra, geometry, and trigonometry to calculate dimensions, speeds, feeds, and machining decisions.
• Collect machining data and support capacity planning and quality targets with shop-floor leadership.

Software / Tools: Mastercam preferred; equivalent CAM software accepted. Exposure to Creo Parametric 4.0 / Creo Pro E and Global Vault is preferred. Additional tools include CNC controls, G-code, simulation and verification software, setup sheets, tool lists, engineering drawings, quality documentation, and Microsoft Excel, Teams, Word, and PowerPoint.

Top 3 Skills / Must Haves:

1. At least 3 years of CNC machining and programming experience, including creating programs from scratch.

2. Required CAM software experience; Mastercam preferred, but the team will consider other CAM platforms.

3. Demonstrated troubleshooting and prove-out capability across relevant mill, lathe, and multi-axis machining work.

Additional Required Evidence: Candidate should be able to explain a personally completed programming example from drawing/model through setup and prove-out; identify the CAM platform and machine used; clarify individual ownership; describe a program or process problem resolved; and quantify or explain the shop-floor result.
