This position requires a hands-on machinist capable of programming, editing, setting up, and operating CNC mills, primarily Haas DT-1 and Haas TM-1 mills.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a short-run, precision manufacturing environment and can independently take a job from print to finished part, including programming, tooling setup, machine operation, and quality verification.ResponsibilitiesProgram and edit CNC milling programs directly at the machine or via CAM software as neededSetup and operate Haas CNC mills (DT-1 and TM-1) for precision machining operationsPerform machine setups including fixture installation, work offsets, and part alignmentSelect, install, and touch off cutting tools while establishing tool offsetsInterpret engineering drawings, prints, and tolerances to ensure accurate machiningRun production and prototype parts while maintaining tight tolerancesMonitor machining operations and adjust speeds, feeds, and offsets to optimize performancePerform first-article inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measuring toolsTroubleshoot machining issues and make program adjustments when necessaryMaintain machines, tooling, and work areas in a clean and organized conditionCollaborate with engineering and production teams to improve machining processes and efficiencyRequirements / Qualifications5+ years of CNC milling experienceHands-on experience with Haas CNC mills or similar vertical machining centersAbility to program and edit G-codeExperience performing full machine setups including work offsets and toolingStrong blueprint reading skills and understanding of machining tolerancesProficiency using inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and indicatorsAbility to work independently in a short-run or prototype manufacturing environmentPreferredFamiliarity with high-precision machining and tight tolerance workExperience with fixture design or prototype machining
