If you're driven by hard problems, energized by rapid innovation, and ready to make an impact on next-generation flight systems, you belong here.The CNC Programmer III leads the development of complex CNC programs for high-risk aerospace components, mentors junior programmers, and ensures process robustness across production environments.

Tasks and responsibilities expected for this role include those captured by lower role specific levels.This role involves working closely with engineers, production technicians, and operations teams to support multiple programs and value streams.Key Responsibilities:Lead programming for complex, multi-axis aerospace partsAdvise on fixture design and part setup strategiesIntegrate programming standards into production workflowsTroubleshoot program-related machining issuesConduct training and mentoring for Program I–II personnelParticipate in design-for-manufacturability (DFM) reviewsCollaborate with Manufacturing Engineering on tooling and process improvementsPerform program validation using simulation, dry runs, and machine testsResponsibilities (Level II):Generate basic 2–3 axis CNC programs using approved CAM softwareInterpret engineering drawings and identify features to machineSelect appropriate tools, speeds, feeds, and cutting strategies per standard guidelinesValidate programs via simulation and identify obvious collisions or issuesSupport machinists and manufacturing engineering during first runsMaintain and update tooling libraries per standardsDocument program revisions and configuration control dataFollow safety and quality standards (AS9100, FOD, PPE protocols)Responsibilities (Level III):Develop CNC programs (3–5 axis) based on engineering drawings and process plansOptimize toolpaths for efficiency and qualityCollaborate with machinists to validate programs on the machineEnsure programs comply with GD&T, tolerances, and surface finish requirementsDefine tooling, fixturing, and cutting parametersSupport production ramps and resolve machining issuesParticipate in first-article inspections and initial validationMaintain program version controlQualifications:5+ years of CNC programming experienceDeep knowledge of multi-axis programming challengesStrong understanding of GD&T and aerospace tolerancesExperience mentoring and leading program effortsCompensation:Level II - $44.00 - $53.50 per hourLevel III - $53.50 - $63.00 per hour$44 - $63 USDWhat's in it for you:Benefits:Competitive total compensation packageComprehensive benefit package options include medical, dental, vision, life, and more.401k with company-match4 weeks of paid time off each year12 annual company holidaysWhy Join Zone 5 Technologies?Innovative Environment: Work on cutting-edge technology that is shaping the future of defense and aerospace.Collaborative Culture: Join a team of passionate professionals dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what's possible.Career Growth: Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.If you are passionate about unmanned aircraft technology and want to be a part of a dynamic and growing company, we would love to hear from you.
