CAD/CAM TechnicianThis is a job for someone who sees the big picture—and the smallest detail. Formally titled as a CAD/CAM Technician, you'll be at the center of our Service Parts manufacturing automation efforts. You'll build and maintain intelligent 3D part libraries, create machining programs, and help design parts kits that directly impact customer satisfaction.
If you love solving problems, working with advanced software, and finding the most efficient way to make something, this role puts you in the driver's seat.Job ResponsibilitiesCNC SupportCoordinate with manufacturing engineers to create machining program templates for each part family using GibbsCAM softwareUse Creo CAD to create family table–based part models for all components manufactured by Service PartsBuild and maintain a 3D library of CNC machine tables, fixture geometries, and toolingEnsure part family programs can be flexibly posted to various machines within the SVP fleet based on capacity and availabilityUse CGTech Vericut for NC file validation before manufacturing releaseApply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) during the programming processDetermine optimal tooling and cutting parameters based on material and setupParts Kit Design & CoordinationProvide technical support for Elliott Parts KitsDesign parts kit layouts to meet internal and external customer needs—supporting growth, quality, and productivityReview drawings for accuracy; obtain weights and dimensions of spare partsCorrect drawings as neededDetermine how each part will be packaged safely and cost-effectively for long-term storage and safe handlingGroup and package parts into kits to ensure viability for outagesCreate inspection matrices and engineering sketches for kit box ordersCoordinate with kit box vendors to approve layouts and ensure accuracyWork with Project Planners and Engineering on required drawing updatesGeneral Manufacturing SupportCreate and maintain BOMs in Windchill for parts and products manufactured in-house by Service Parts (essential for MRP planning and Product Lifecycle Management)Produce "conversion drawings" to give manufacturing usable documentation—including foreign language to English, metric to imperial, and manufacturing drawings for non-Elliott partsRead and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, routing instructions, manuals, and specificationsYou'll coordinate closely with manufacturing engineering to determine the "best method" for manufacturing each part type—using available machinery and tools, planning contour-path machining, and working with integrated software systems. You'll also partner with the Customer Strategy team to determine optimal parts kit layouts that meet customer needs and expectations.What Makes This Role CriticalThis job is key to achieving Service Parts goals around manufacturing automation.
