Why this job is worth considering

Elliott Tool Technologies has been manufacturing precision tube tools in Dayton since 1892, and this role puts you at the center of how parts get made. As the shop's go-to CNC Programmer, you'll write and optimize the programs behind Swiss turning and milling work, and be the person machinists turn to for setups, troubleshooting, and prove-outs. It's a chance to lead programming in a stable, long-established shop rather than just execute someone else's programs, with real input into tooling, fixturing, and capital equipment decisions along the way.

What you'll be doing

  • Write, maintain, and optimize CNC programs for new and existing parts - Swiss turning, milling, and related processes - using PartMaker and other CAM software.
  • Improve cycle times, tool life, surface finish, and part accuracy on existing programs.
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date program libraries and documentation.
  • Serve as the shop's go-to resource for CNC programming, macros, and advanced techniques.
  • Support machinists with setups, troubleshooting, and prove-outs, and provide daily run support for assigned departments.
  • Recommend tooling and fixturing aligned with programming and process needs.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts focused on efficiency, quality, and throughput, and provide input on capital equipment and machining upgrades.
  • Cross-train Manufacturing Technicians and Manufacturing Engineers to strengthen programming understanding and ensure consistent coverage across the shop.

Machines, controls and software

Programs run on Haas and Okuma controls, with PartMaker as the primary CAM platform. Machine experience spans Swiss turning, lathe, and mill-turn (lathe with milling) work.

What we're looking forRequired

  • 4+ years of CNC programming experience, or a strong machinist background with demonstrated programming capability.
  • Comfortable working with machining tools and equipment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A team-oriented, coachable mindset focused on team success.
  • A results-driven approach that takes pride in quality and follows through on commitments.
  • Ability to work onsite in Dayton, Ohio.

Preferred

  • Additional technical training beyond a high school diploma.

Pay, benefits and schedule

Full-time, First Shift (7am-4pm or 8am-5pm), with steady 40-hour weeks and the freedom to structure your schedule and make up time as needed. Relocation or transition support is available for strong candidates coming from outside the Dayton area.
