CNC Laser & Press Brake OperatorThe CNC Laser & Press Brake Operator is responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining CNC laser cutting and Press Brake equipment to cut, bend, and form metal components to specification. This role includes programming, machine setup, inspection, and quality verification while ensuring safe, efficient, and accurate production. The operator makes decisions regarding quality, tolerances, and operation sequence.Essential Job Responsibilities:Operate and maintain CNC laser cutting machines and press brake equipment safely and efficientlySet up machines, including tooling installation, material loading, and program selectionProgram CNC machines, build nests, and adjust machine settings as neededDetermine proper tooling, set stops/guides, and configure CNC units for forming operationsLoad/unload materials using overhead crane and/or forkliftPerform cutting, bending, and forming operations to meet specificationsInspect, test, and measure parts; document results and ensure quality standards are metDetect and report defective materials and non-conforming partsVerify material thickness, dimensions, and tolerancesPerform basic machine maintenance and identify worn or damaged toolingWork across multiple workstations as production needs requirePerform secondary operations such as drilling, tapping, sawing, grinding, sanding, and deburring.Qualification Requirements:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Strong attention to detail and commitment to qualityOrganized and able to follow established proceduresReliable and dependableStrong safety awareness and ability to identify hazardsSelf-motivated with ability to work independentlyAbility to produce accurate parts in a fast-paced environmentEducation, Reasoning Ability, and or Experience:High school diploma or GED preferredMinimum 1 year of manufacturing experience (CNC laser and/or press brake preferred)Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurementsProficiency with tape measure and basic math (fractions, decimals)Experience with CNC programming/software preferredMechanical aptitude and ability to learn machinery and toolingExperience with ERP systems (CSI/Syteline a plus)Strong problem-solving skillsCommunication and Language Skills:Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructionsEffective communication with supervisors and team membersTeam-oriented with a positive attitudePhysical Demands:Regular standing, walking, bending, squatting, and reachingFrequent use of hands for tools and controlsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs frequentlyWork near moving mechanical partsExposure to fumes, chemicals, and airborne particlesVision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.Benefits:Competitive salary: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.Eight paid holidays.Health and Life insurance coverage.401(k) plan with a 4% employer match.ESOP retirement account.Clothing allowance.Schedule:Full-time position.Shift options: 10-hour shift or 8-hour shift.Day shift.Monday to Friday work schedule.Work Location:In-person work at our Sioux Rapids, IA location.If you are a motivated and skilled professional seeking a challenging opportunity with a respected industry leader, we encourage you to apply for this position at Ranco Fertiservice, Inc.
