As a CNC Operator, you'll set up and operate machines, and may use blueprints, adjust for materials used, verify dimensional requirements, and transfer materials to storage areas. You'll work with unconventional materials that require specialized skills.Job Location: Newton, IAWhat you'll do:Roll and re-roll plate to match sweepInspect plate for defects and damageOperate burn table to cut plate according to blueprints and measurements and dispose of any remaining materialOperate mag lift to transfer plate within the departmentBlast and paint plateFollow all safety rules and practicesMay be involved in safety committees or initiativesPerform other duties as assignedTroubleshoot and correct faulty programmingTrain of new or existing team membersAssure safety of all team membersAssist in completion of all tasks to meet deadlinesMaintain and improve qualityWhat you'll need:A minimum of 1 year of experienceThe ability to operate a lift to move loads up to 30,000 poundsThe ability to operate an overhead crane on a production lineThe ability to read a tape measurerThe ability to read, write, and speak English fluentlyAbility to work as a team, demonstrate high ethical standards, treat all coworkers with dignity and respect and support a positive working cultureWorking Conditions:Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidaysAbility to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plantSafety Activities:Be aware of and observe all safety practices.
