CNC OperatorHowmet Fastening Systems is looking for a CNC Operator in our Torrance, CA location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.General Summary:Requires the set-up, operation and troubleshooting of CNC controlled machine tools to perform any sequence of programmed operation using programs and tool layouts provided.Specific Responsibilities:Must be able to follow work order and verbal instructionsRun multiple machines as requiredActively employs set-up reduction techniques to minimize "internal" activities, drive down change-over times and increase productivityMaintains a clean and orderly workplace in accordance with 5S standardsActive involvement in Autonomous Maintenance programPerform Preventative Maintenance per daily schedulePerform first piece verification process per part print as requiredResponsible for producing and maintaining high level quality partsPerform Lock/Out Tag/Out (LOTO)Run production parts according to specifications, work instructions and quality standardsCheck all work with appropriate measuring tools and make offsets and edits as requiredActive involvement in continuous improvement initiativesFollow all EHS Policies and Procedures. Report all incidents immediatelyOther duties as assigned by department managementKnowledge and SkillsMust be able to read and interpret blueprints and work instructionsUnderstanding of cutting tools (offset and geometry) and must know "G" and "M" CodesMust know basic troubleshootingMust be able to move and lift up to 30 lbs (may not exceed per EHS policies)Basic Qualifications:High school diploma or GED preferred.Minimum of +5 year experience in CNC in aerospace industryMust be able to read, write and understand EnglishEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

The salary range for this position is $27-$35.
