By joining our network, you gain access to roles worth considering.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, test, and implement CNC programs for 3-axis and 5-axis mills.Select appropriate cutting tools, holders, and workholding devices.Simulate machining operations to identify and resolve potential issues.Optimize tool paths and cutting parameters for efficiency and surface finish.Troubleshoot and modify existing CNC programs as needed.Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and machinists to ensure program effectiveness.Create and maintain detailed setup sheets and tooling lists.Recommended Qualifications5+ years of experience programming 3-axis and 4-axis CNC mills.Proficiency in CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidCAM).Strong understanding of G-code and M-code programming.Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications.Experience with various materials (e.g., aluminum, steel, plastics, exotic alloys).Bonus QualificationsExperience with CAM software beyond basic G-code generation (e.g., advanced toolpath optimization, simulation).Proficiency in a secondary programming language (e.g., Python, C#) for automation or custom tool development.Strong understanding of GD&T principles and their application in manufacturing.Ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.Experience with 5-axis machining or other advanced CNC technologies.Job Titles That Should ApplyCNC Programmer, CNC Mill Programmer, CNC Machinist Programmer, CNC Programmer/Machinist, Manufacturing Engineer (CNC), CAM Programmer, CNC Programmer Specialist, CNC Programmer AnalystWhy The Pivot Group NetworkThe Pivot Group Network was founded by manufacturing professionals who've been on both sides of the hiring process.
