CNC Mill MachinistThe CNC Mill Machinist is responsible for following prescribed standards of CNC operations, meeting cycle times, promoting on time delivery through their performance efforts, demonstrating knowledge and application of lean manufacturing, promoting teamwork through their behavior, acting in accordance with Altek's Policies and adhering to the goals and expectations as defined by management.Responsibilities:Follows the procedures established in the work instructions or by the Assistant Manager(s) and/or Lead(s)Follows prescribed standards of CNC Mill operations and set-ups of established processesPays strong attention to detail, exhibits critical thinking skills and meets set cycle timesTakes an active role in organizing and improving current processes through SWI change suggestionsIs proactive in maintaining established company policies and manufacturing strategiesSets up equipment to run production and/or prototype parts according to blueprintsDevelops new work instructions for prototype partsTroubleshoots processes, programs, equipment and toolingPerforms shop floor programming and editing of CNC programs to maintain product qualityInspects product according to Altek's Quality Policies and ProceduresBuilds and maintains positive rapport, communication and behavior with other Altek employees, customers and/or suppliersAdapts and modifies as circumstances warrantDemonstrates safe work habitsEmbraces Altek's Quality Policy to ensure quality to internal and external customersEmbraces Altek's vision, core values, and expected behaviorsFunctional Responsibilities:Completes end-of-shift tie-in log and accurately enters part and scrap counts into PaperlessQualifications:High School Diploma or GEDCNC Machining Certificate preferredMinimum of 7 years in CNC Mill setup and machiningExperience with various machine tool controls (G-M Codes & Mazatrol a plus)Quality-conscious attitude and pride of ownership in designated responsibilitiesWorking knowledge of GD&T and calculatingWorking knowledge of mathematical formulas needed to calculate product dimensioningEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to accurately read blueprintsSkilled with portable measuring devices used in the production processes at AltekMust be able to read and comply with work instructions, quality documents, and other pertinent written material
