We have The Energy to Change the World.The Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) Machinist - VTL Operator will work at the Erlanger, KY Service Center to service and manufacture large scale, power generation equipment along with their subassemblies by following blueprints and specific work instructions. This is an onsite position only available at our Erlanger, KY Service Center. The typical work schedule is Monday to Thursday, with weekend work as optional.
Available shift is 2:30PM to 1:00AM. Our Erlanger, KY Service Center is responsible for manufacturing/assembly and/or repairs of large utility grade Steam Turbines and Generators.Your RoleWork in a shop environment safely with zero accidents and/or injuriesSet-up and operate CNC Vertical Turret LathesRead CNC programs, familiar with G & M codesMake edits to CNC programs to maximize efficiency and reduce errorRead and interpret Engineered Blue Print dwgsUnderstand and apply geometric tolerancesSet up and safely use various inspection tools and gages (i.e. inner diameter (I/D) & outer diameter (O/D) Mics, calipers, Pi-tape, bore gages, Tri-mics, thread gages, etc...)Machine to required tolerances of .0005" - .005"Determine optimal machining feeds and speeds and tool selectionsWork effectively with team to ensure successful delivery to customerBasic QualificationsHigh School Diploma / GEDMinimum 5 years CNC Machining Experience preferredDesired CharacteristicsExperience with VTL that uses live tooling is a plusAbility to follow all safety rules and wear all PPE as requiredExperience with Fanuc Controls is a plusProven ability to use shop math, including trigonometry and geometryAbility to follow work rules, carry out instructions either written, oral, or diagram formAbility to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situationsAbility to work well with othersAbility to communicate clearly and effectivelyDesire to take ownership and accountability in work and in company successAbility to work in a lean and fast-paced environmentThe pay range for this position is $29.00 to $40.00 USD per hour.
