Whether you will spend your day brainstorming in an office cubicle, operating a crane, running manufacturing equipment or troubleshooting technical obstacles, at CMC, you'll get the training and support from your team that you need to excel in your role and reach your full potential.What You'll DoThe Machinist is responsible for the machining of new and repair part products to print specificationsPerform operational functions of CNC machines, maintain proper maintenance of machine equipmentReading of blueprints, sketches, machine parts or specifications to determine type and dimensions of stock requiredObserve machine operation to detect malfunction or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as requiredMaintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurementsMaintain a safe work environment and keep work area clean and organizedConduct all business activities in accordance with company code of conduct, policies and procedures and all applicable legal requirementsThis position is performed in a climate-controlled shop environment Moving, carrying, lifting, objects in excess of 50 lbs Working extended hours and standing for extended periods of time Work in both cold and hot climates Work in or near industrial hazards Willingness to work a flexible schedule in order to meet demands of the roleWhat You'll NeedMinimum 5 years' experience in CNC and Manual machining (proficient in Lathes, Vertical mills, Horizontal mills, key setters, grinding)Ability to apply basic written and verbal communication skillsAbility to read and comprehend complex instructions, work orders and drawingsAbility to apply concepts of basic math and basic PC skillsAbility to work in a team environment and effectively communicateAbility to follow directions and procedures Proficient in the use of hand and power tools at a speed necessary for successful job performance Frequent standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, climbing.Your Education High School Diploma or GED requiredWe are CMC, a Fortune 500® company at the leading edge of our industry.
