Build Complex Aerospace Parts on Large-Scale 5-Axis Equipment

Formidable Engineering Technologies is growing its aerospace manufacturing operation and seeking an experienced CNC Machinist / Programmer to support prototype and low-volume production machining.

This role is ideal for a machinist who enjoys taking ownership of projects from print to finished part. You'll work on complex aerospace components, program and machine a variety of parts, and contribute directly to projects requiring exceptional precision and craftsmanship.

The company continues to invest in advanced manufacturing technology, including a Cincinnati SMART-t V5A-3222 Heavy Duty 5-Axis Bridge Mill capable of handling large-scale aerospace work.

What You'll Be Doing

In this role, you will:

• Program, set up, and operate CNC milling and turning equipment
• Create and modify CNC programs using Mastercam
• Machine prototype and short-run production components
• Set tooling, work offsets, and workholding fixtures
• Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections
• Troubleshoot machining and programming issues
• Optimize cycle times and machining processes
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to meet customer deadlines

What We're Looking ForRequired

• CNC machining experience in a production or prototype environment
• CNC programming experience
• Experience with milling operations
• Experience setting up and operating CNC equipment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong understanding of machining processes, tooling, and offsets
• Quality-focused mindset with strong attention to detail
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred

• Aerospace machining experience
• 5-Axis machining experience
• Mastercam programming experience
• Lathe programming and setup experience
• Experience with Fanuc, Haas, and Heidenhain controls
• Experience in a quick-turn manufacturing environment
• Technical certification or associate degree in a related field
