Our machinists work with large weldments, castings, forgings, rolls, shafts, bearing housings, water jackets, and other critical steel-mill components.

The work ranges from one-of-a-kind emergency repairs to the production of new and replacement equipment, requiring experience with close-tolerance machining, complex setups, blueprint interpretation, and large-component handling.Requirements:Current, valid driver licenseProven ability to perform work accurately and thoroughlyHigh attention to detail and self-motivation skillsMust pass a pre-employment physical and drug screenEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Performs setup, programming, and operation of CNC lathes, horizontal and vertical machining centers and gantry millsMakes programming and other adjustments to adhere to established specificationsMonitors work to ensure that machine is operating properlyWorks from drawings, blueprints, and written instructions to make repairs, modifications and create replacement partsRequires basic knowledge of various metals and of measurements used in machining processesDetermines dimensions and tolerances of piece to be machined, sequence of operations and machines required by studying specifications, such as blueprints, sketches, damaged parts or descriptions of partsComputes cutting speeds, feed rates and dimensionsPrepares and pre-sets all tools needed for machining operationsResponsible for rigging and transporting by crane, large parts and equipmentInspects machined work pieces to verify conformance to specificationsPerforms housekeeping of machine and work areaDaily maintenance check of machinePrimetals Technologies offers a full range of benefits, including paid time off, Insurance – Medical – including an HSA option, dental, vision, accident, hospital indemnity, critical illness, life & accidental death, Financial – Tool purchase program, 401(k), flexible spending accounts, education reimbursement, quarterly bonus, and employee referral bonuses.At Primetals Technologies, we value difference for the benefit of our employees, our customers, and our Community.
