The ability to interpret blueprints and part specifications — and to select the correct materials, tools, and processes — is a strong plus. For Level II and III, knowledge of G-code programming formats is desirable, along with a solid working knowledge of inspection equipment and the ability to select the proper inspection tool to verify product conformity. Working knowledge of programming techniques at the machine control and via CAD/CAM software is valued.

Experienced Level III machinists will mentor lower-level machinists and play an active role in guiding department workflow for maximum efficiency.RESPONSIBILITIES (Not a comprehensive list — will vary by level)Setup & OperationTend one or more CNC machine tools (mills and/or lathes) to machine metal and non-metal workpiecesLoad parts into CNC machining centers or manual machines as requiredBuild fixtures as required to hold workpieceBlueprints & ToolingRead blueprints and job traveler specifications to determine proper tooling and setup for each operationSelect correct tooling, materials, and processes based on specificationsProgrammingInterpret and edit CNC programs using Fanuc, Fadal, and Yasnac controlsModify programs as required to meet product conformityRetrieve and store programs in the databaseInspection & QualityInspect and measure workpieces using standard measuring tools to verify conformance to specificationsObserve machine operation and verify workpiece conformance during the runMaintain statistical reportingMaintenance & Tooling UpkeepReplace cutting tools as required to maintain part qualityComplete routine machine maintenanceMust be able to lift 75 lbs.FinishingDeburr and clean workpieces as requiredQUALIFICATIONS: Education / Experience Requirements:High School Diploma or GED required5–10+ years' experience for Level II or IIIGood math skillsGeneral mechanical skills and basic familiarity with hand toolsBasic blueprint skills (Level II or III)Preferred knowledge of machining stainless steel, titanium, aluminum, Inconel, and assorted plastics (Level III)**NO CALLS FROM STAFFING AGENCIES OR RECRUITERS PLEASE**
