CNC MachinistThe CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up, operating, and machining complex precision components using advanced multi-axis CNC equipment. This role supports the production of high-precision parts used in aerospace, defense, and space applications, requiring a strong understanding of machining processes, tight tolerances, and complex geometries.The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC machines, and is capable of working with a variety of materials while maintaining strict quality and performance standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate 5-axis CNC mills and machining centers to produce precision components.Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications to ensure accurate machining.Perform complex machining operations on ferrous and non-ferrous materials including aluminum, stainless steel, and specialty alloys.Execute multi-operation machining processes, including roughing, finishing, and tight-tolerance work.Monitor machine performance and adjust offsets, feeds, and speeds as needed to maintain quality.Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).Ensure parts meet strict quality and tolerance requirements for aerospace applications.Collaborate with programmers, engineers, and quality teams to optimize machining processes.Maintain clean and organized work areas while following all safety protocols.Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.Support production schedules and meet deadlines for high-priority projects.Qualifications5+ years of experience operating CNC machining equipment, with strong experience in 5-axis machining.Experience working in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing environments.Strong understanding of multi-axis machining processes and toolpath strategies.Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T.Experience machining large and complex components using multi-axis equipment.Strong knowledge of cutting tools, materials, and machining techniques.Ability to work independently and make adjustments to improve part quality and efficiency.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.Preferred QualificationsExperience with CAM software and editing programs at the machine.Familiarity with large-scale machining, including horizontal mills or boring mills.Experience working with tight-tolerance aerospace components.Knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, or similar quality standards.Ability to operate cranes or material handling equipment.
