CNC Machinist IIThe CNC Machinist III proves out new programs, sets up and operates computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts, loads parts in the machine, and cycles machine. They independently perform a wide range of complex duties, working within established procedures associated with specific job function and have fully gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.In this role, you will:Read production orders, gauges, interpret blueprints and material specificationsRead and edit G or M code, test accuracy of settings and programs and detect malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting toolsTranslate the requirements of detailed part drawings into measurements for productionDetect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to shop foreman or person designatedRegularly performs milling, turning, drilling, tapping, de-burring, sawing, and sanding tasksAdjust the machine offsets to control finish dimensions as well as make sure the machines are set up properly, working well, and producing quality productInspect with the appropriate gauging technique and keep defective material report currentInspect the finished product to ensure it is defect-free and ready for the next step in productionPerform traceability marking and documentationKeep appropriate documents current and accurateOperate the overhead crane and forkliftMaintain work area and equipment in a safe, orderly, clean environmentFollow safety proceduresPerform other duties as assignedRequired and Preferred Experience:Requires 7+ years of related experienceStrong basic math skills including decimals and fractionsExtensive knowledge of machine maintenance and operationPrior experience as a CNC Machinist or using production machineryAbility to read, write and communicate wellInterpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and proceduresLimited computer knowledgeWork Environment and Physical Requirements:Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, and reach with hands and armsFrequent lifting, pushing, and pulling objects that are 50 pounds or less (SEF Energy employees shall not manually lift an item weighing more than 50 lbs., they shall utilize mechanical assistance devices.
