CNC MachinistThe CNC machinist operates computer numerical control machines to fabricate parts. The CNC machinist performs set up tasks, loads parts in the machine, cycles machine and detects malfunctions in machine operations, such as worn or damaged cutting tools. The position runs production lots, communicates with co-workers regarding productions runs, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment.Essential functions include:Creates part identification tagsRecognizes and loads correct tooling into lathe, mill, or 5 axisDescribes correct tool data from set up sheetTeach tool offsetsLoads fixtures/work holdingSets up and edits bar feeder when applicableFinds work piece coordinatesCycles and measures first pieceCompletes and maintains paperwork for parts.Competencies:Communication Proficiency.Mathematical Skills.Mechanical Capacity.Technical Capacity.Time Management.Required education and experience:High school diploma or graduation from a certified technical school.Minimum three years of related experience.Ability to read blue prints and use measuring toolsPreferred education and experience:Mazak milling and turning centers using FusionMatrix or Matrix II controls (Mazatrol and G-Code programming)Work environment:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment can be loud and hearing protection is required.Physical demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee will need to lift up to 50lbs.
