MachinistThe Machinist is responsible for making parts from prints using CNC lathes and/or mills. They will be setting up a machine, loading/editing the part program, setting up or making fixtures, loading and running parts, deburring and inspecting parts to make sure they're within tolerance.
Responsibilities include:Being able to setup and operate lathes and/or mills, including making and setting up fixtures, loading and editing programs, making first article parts and present to quality for inspectionBe able to make work coordinate or tool offsetsLoad, unload parts and run parts to printDeburr and check parts with appropriate measuring toolsDocument inspections as requiredBe able to pass jobs off to operators when required by instructing the operator on the job requirementsAdditional items as assigned by managerThis position interacts with other trades in and outside their area including CNC Operators, Quality Control, Project Managers, and Engineering.Competency or position requirements:Proficient in the operation of CNC lathes or millsUnderstanding of CNC controls and G-code programming languageProficient in use of measuring tools including mics, calipers, bore gagesProficient in reading of blueprintStrong communication skillsDetail-orientedTime management skillsAll Armor employees are also expected to demonstrate Armor's core values of being:Customer-FocusedPassionate about WorkSolution-OrientedDriven by IntegrityEducation and/or experience:High school education / Vocational School4 years of relevant experienceAbility to push/ pull pallet loads, and lift 65 poundsMust be able to use computers with Excel and AccessAny additional certificationsEquipment used: Personal Computer, Lathe, Horizontal and Vertical Mills, small hand tools, measuring tools-mics, calipers, and bore gagesWorking and physical conditions:Work will be performed on the manufacturing floor.Lifting, kneeling, pushing, pulling are required.The Armor Group, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/ Affirmative Action employer.
