CNC Machinist II Or IIICrane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a 2nd Shift CNC Machinist II or III (Mills and/or Lathe) at our Burbank, CA location.Second Shift Hours are Monday-Friday, 2:00 PM -10:30 PM. Overtime may adjust start time (e.g., 3:00 PM for extended overtime) and/or extend end time. Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required.Job Summary:The CNC Machinist produces machined parts by setting up and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping records and maintaining equipment and supplies.Essential Functions:Understand work orders, blueprints, manufacturing orders, and machining parametersValidate material usedMaintain specifications; Troubleshoot, detect malfunctions and take appropriate actions; Know when to replace worn toolsListen to machining operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and compensate for problemsMeasure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments, templates, fixtures and knowledge of GDT standardsMaintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions taken thus far as well as any necessary further stepsAny other task assigned by supervisor or managementNon-Essential Functions:Maintain conscientious work behaviors including work ethic, safety standards, quality, costs, and On-Time Delivery (OTD)Minimum Qualifications:Experience: 2+ years of experience machining with CNC Mills and/or Lathe, preferably in aerospace manufacturing.Experience on 4-5 axis CNC Lathe (Okuma & Harding Lathe experience preferred).Experience on 4-5 axis CNC Mills (Mazak machine, Fadal, Toyoda experience preferred).Knowledge: Knowledge of various inspection equipment i.e.
micrometers, calipers, and height gages; Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations; Knowledge of Geometric Dimensional Tolerancing; Understanding of cutting tool Geometry; Knowledge of tooling and coordinationSkills/Abilities: Able to work quickly and efficiently through Process Improvement structure; Good verbal and written communication; Strong attention to detail and accurate record keepingEducation/Certification:High School Diploma or equivalentEligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information.
