Collins Aerospace has the capabilities, comprehensive portfolio, and expertise to solve customers' toughest challenges and to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving global market.Position Details3rd Shift: Sunday-Thursday 11:30P – 6:30AWhat You Will DoThis classification requires the inspection of all types of machined parts, aircraft parts, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and installations, development parts and assemblies, vendor manufactured parts, materials, all types of tooling, master gages, master models and development parts, etc., for workmanship, dimensional accuracy, and interchangeability.Sets up and operates all types of numerically controlled multi-axis drilling machines.Exercises a thorough knowledge of various types of machine control units and systems.Sets up and operates machines to perform any operation within the capacity of the equipment.Mounts holding fixtures and sets up targets to worktables; positions, aligns and fastens parts in fixtures, chucks or directly to work tables; mounts drills to spindles.Loads or activates control units, makes required control settings and aligns spindles to set up targets using dial indicators as required.Makes intermediate set-ups changes as programmed.Selects and hones cutting tools and cutters to specifications using safety precautions and tools specified.Selects proper stylus and drills.Observes drilling process and watches for functional variations in machines or control units and notifies supervision of malfunctions.Makes periodic checks on parts to ensure dimensional accuracy in order to establish cutter change cycle.Verifies new cutter accuracy by making comparison checks after drill changes.Sets up and operates equipment to perform close tolerance conventional milling operations such as milling compound angles using holding fixtures, milling multiple angles using a rotary tool or dividing head, milling radii, keyway cutting, slotting, slabbing, etc.Machines various tooling jobs as required.Works from blueprints, sketches, and other authorized documents.Checks own work for conformance to specifications.Uses overhead cranes in conjunction with the work described herein.Uses the necessary equipment, tools and materials required to perform the work described herein.Maintains good shop practice.Qualifications You Must HaveTypically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
