CNC Machinist - 3rd ShiftCNC Machinist will be required to perform tasks related to program editing, set-up, operation, trouble-shooting and preventive maintenance for CNC machines, custom process machines and production support equipment. Read manufacturing prints, machine drawings and operator's manuals, adjust tooling and process parameters, interpret programs and interact with Engineering to solve problems as well as optimizing operations. Operate material handling equipment, use a variety of measuring equipment, and perform other miscellaneous tasks.
Must be willing to work overtime as needed.Will be subjected to dust, filings, chips, heat, and noise in the normal performance of their duties. The use of PPE is stipulated.Hours: 11PM - 7:30AMEssential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesCNC Mill, Lathe, and Mill Turn MachiningOperation of 3 and 5 axis vertical and horizontal mills, lathes, and mill turnPerforms CNC set ups that may entail truing up locating surfacesCapable to vet CNC programs and cutter selection on legacy CNC toolingResponsible for training less skilled Machinists and OperatorsEnsure correct fixturing is used and maintained.Programming Pre-setters and Shrink-fit equipment and setting tool life parametersUnderstands macro programming and subroutines tied to main programsUnderstands fundamentals of GD&T dimensioning and tolerancingLoad NC programs, adjust offset tables, maintain and replace cutting tools.Electronically document in-process data to maintain QA and production system requirements.Measure, and record QA data; dimensions, serial numbers, etc.Perform measuring equipment calibration checks.Knowledge of Fanuc, Haas, Mazatrol, Fagor, and Seimens controlMachine Setup and Prove OutOperate material handling equipment including hoists, cranes, tow motors, etc.Ability to read and understand detailed prints and work instructions.Knowledge of indicators, micrometers, and calipers to accurately align workholding.Must assemble tools and accurately set tool length as well as alignment and runoutMust have knowledge of work offsets and tool offset parameters in each control typeMust be capable of proving out 1st piece setups on different types of equipmentGeneral Skills Required for All of the Above OperationsUse calipers, depth gages, micrometers, and fabricated gaging equipment.Utilize tool setting equipmentUtilize computers.
