Machinist Position at KamaticsKamatics is seeking machinists across multiple experience levels (III, IV, V & VI) to join our team in Bloomfield, CT. This role supports the production of high-precision aerospace components by setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC machining equipment in a dynamic manufacturing environment.Candidates may range from experienced machinists building on foundational skills to highly skilled machinists capable of independently performing complex setups, optimizing machining processes, and supporting others on the team.Key Responsibilities:Set up, operate, adjust, and troubleshoot CNC machine tools to perform progressive machining operationsExecute machining operations including drilling, boring, milling, turning, honing, threading, and related processes within machine capabilitiesWork from programs, operation sheets, blueprints, and setup instructions to execute precision machining processesManage tooling, fixturing, material clamping, offsets, and console settings to ensure part accuracy and repeatabilityVerify parts for conformance to engineering drawings and GD&T requirements using appropriate inspection methodsIdentify and resolve machining, tooling, or program-related issues to maintain quality and productivityMaintain production documentation and follow all safety, quality, and environmental proceduresSupport continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and enhance overall qualityMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work environmentAdditional Responsibilities (Based on Experience Level)Perform full machine setups independently on complex parts and multi-axis CNC equipmentValidate and prove out programs; make adjustments to optimize cycle times, quality, and machining performanceTroubleshoot advanced machining processes, tooling, and programming issuesProvide technical guidance and training to less experienced machinistsIdentify and implement process improvements across operationsQualificationsEducationHigh school diploma or GED requiredMachining or technical training certificate preferredExperience2-6+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience level, scope of responsibility, and complexity of work will vary based on candidate backgroundSkills & KnowledgeUnderstanding of CNC machining principles, processes, and best practicesAbility to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T requirementsProficiency in shop math and precision measurement toolsExperience with CNC machine operations, including offsets (geometry and wear), dry runs, and program adjustmentsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentBenefits:At Kamatics, we recognize how important your career and benefits are to you and your family.
