CNC Machinist 1Plan and perform various CNC milling operations to machine a variety of metal parts under the direction of the supervisor.Essential Functions:Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes and milling machinesWork from blueprints, engineering instructions, and specificationsSetup, adjust and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized tools in order to perform precision machining operationsAlign and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machinesCheck parts to ensure that they are properly lubricated and cooledMeasure, examine, and test completed units to defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometersClean and lubricate machines, tools, and equipment in order to remove grease, rust, stains, and foreign matterMaintain records and document in-process inspection dataRequired Qualifications & Experience:Must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related dataHigh School Degree or G.E.D1+ years of CNC machining experienceDesired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesPrecision Manufacturing Certificate preferredMust be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional levelAbility to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organizationAbility to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practicesAbility to read and interpret blueprints and engineering work instructionsAbility to setup and operate CNC turning and milling machinesAbility to measure using standard shop tools, machine tools, and engineered gaging to close established tolerancesKnowledge of G & M codesAbility to travel domestically – 10% maxPhysical Demands / Work Capacity EvaluationThe essential functions of this position may vary based on specific assignments, work locations, and operational needs.
